Apartment Review for The Block - Austin, TX

After my wife and I spent over six hours helping clean our sons' apartment to be sure they got their half of a $450 deposit, the Block WOULD NOT GIVE US A CHECKOUT WALK-THROUGH INSPECTION. We vacuumed and even shampooed the carpets (both bedrooms), thoroughly cleaned the bathroom on their side, wiped down the woodwork throughout the apartment, and left it in move-in condition except for a slat in a blind that was broken and the drip pans on the range that needed to be replaced. Out of the $450, they refunded $98.62, charging for cleaning of many items we know were cleaned thoroughly. I won't even get into the substandard appliances and poor workmanship in what was a brand new apartment, elevators not working much of the time, security concerns, and several other issues. I contacted them immediately upon receipt of the partial refund and gave them time to make it right. I never heard from them. Don't go near this place unless you are ready to live in an over-priced, substandard apartment and then forfeit most of your deposit when you move out.
