Apartment Review for The Block - Austin, TX

You could not pay me to live at the Block again. The management is absolutely horrible because they do not give a crap about customer service. They don't care if you are happy living here because they have a constantly rotating group of students moving in and out. These are brand new apartments built with such incredibly cheap materials and they charge you an absolute fortune!! The parking is all "block your roommate in" style which gets old fast. There is NO guest parking. Examples of bad management: 1) My bedroom window was shattered by a drunk guy who felt the need to hit it one night. The Block didn't think it was important enough to fix my bedroom window for 3 weeks!! 2) My roommates bedroom flooded from bad piping (in our BRAND NEW building) issues and all of her furniture was ruined. It took the Block 3 days to fix the carpet damage and none of her furniture was replaced. 3) The fire alarms go off at 3am at least 2 times a month. There are just so many bad things that have happened in the 8 months I've lived here. I would not recommend living here to anyone. For how much it costs, you should look for a place that will remember you are paying a fortune and treat you accordingly.
