Apartment Review for The Block - Austin, TX

I wanted to live at the block because i knew that there would be three brand new buildings. So I signed a lease w/ the block on 23rd last year, hoping that everything will turn out nicely (due to the higher rent price). Well, when I moved in, the construction was not complete. THE BLINDS WERE NOT INSTALLED FOR ALMOST A WEEK after move-in. How could you sleep in a room w/o blinds? Despite of the blinds issue, the rooms were not cleaned, the shelves in my kitchen closets were not installed. In fact, the shelves are still not installed NOW (today is 12/15/2008, almost 5 months after move-in). Also, the ceiling in my bathroom began to "leak" last month and so I emailed the residence service center to get it fixed. The guy came and told me that it's "just condensation" and that his apt does the same thing. Alright, so I beilieved him. However, after he came, everytime i turn on the shower, my ceiling drips with water!!!!!!! I emailed again and I went to the resident service center myself to ask someone to fix it, but nobody came for about 3 weeks. I had to use my roomate's bathroom to shower now. It's really really really bad managemnet!!!! The block raised the price for renewing lease for fall 09. Well, I'm not going to renew it at any cost. This place sucks as hell. My neighbor upstairs love to turn up the base and "hit the ground" in the in the middle of the night (make me feel like the roof is falling). DON'T LIVE HERE! THE PLACE DEF LOOKS NICE FROM THE OUTSIDE, but DON'T GET LURED!!!!! DON'T LIVE HERE!!
