PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE CHOOSING PROMONTORY POINT APTS. Promontory Point, upon initial viewing, is a well put together apartment complex. At first glance, everything looks fine and new. the landscaping is gorgeous, with trees that flower during certain seasons, there's a nice pool and a small hot tub next to it. the grounds are kept extremely clean. but underneath all this external beauty there are problems. these apartments are actualy old and were put together poorly. the floor plans are very small and the wallpapering in our kitchen and dining room is atrocious. one of our bathrooms constantly smells of moisture because there are no air vents in the bathrooms, only some kind of useless fan-thing. our foundation has mysterious issues (as does our next door neighbor) and everytime there's a heavy rain our living room floods a bit--water seeping up through the foundation---soaking the carpet. which means everything has to be moved out, the carpet has to lifted up, the padding has to be removed and replaced and the carpet itself then has to dry...which could take 1-2 days. they hire a company to come in and do this and you're left with a giant industrial fan to blow dry the wet carpet--ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT. this thing is very loud and you're expected to just deal with it. i've had a mold colony growing in our pantry, master bedroom closet and the living room due to flooding or leaking from the apartment above. there seems to be a steady number of car thefts too. 1 every month or two. above my fireplace, whose mantle really looks like its about to collapse, there is this huge ugly mirror that's hell to clean. we've had a bug and ant problem and our water bill seems way too high most of the time. then we've had a few really trashy neighors. at one time, previous tenents of the apartment above ours would throw trash off their balcony (including condoms and such)...all i can tell you is do not judge an apartment complex by its exterior. ask questions before you move in. always ask questions. |
