Apartment Review for Marquis At Iron Rock Ranch - Austin, TX

I found this apartment while searching for a place that would accept a very old, well-behaved pit bull. I was impressed with the pool, hot tub, dog washing station, etc. The layout of the apartment was also nice--a very large master bedroom with built-in desk, lovely entryway, etc. The staff took me around and pointed out all the community amenities, and things looked good. It's not like I had another choice anyhow, as this was the only place in town that didn't practice breed discrimination. So I signed the lease. I have since found that the dog washing station is broken. So is the pool. And the hot tub. The kids who live here are out of control, and the management staff is just indescribably awful. I went to the management office for help, and the woman there actually told me to hold on while she took a phone call from her boyfriend. Seriously? And it wasn't a quick call. She was laughing, having a nice casual conversation, and completely ignoring me. There's also a maintenance guy on staff who's a little on the scary side. He's rude and condescending, and he seems to think he's some kind of bouncer. He stands around with his chest puffed out, acting like he's just itching for you to argue with him so he can throw a punch. I still love the fact that this place was willing to accept my dog, but I've got some serious reservations about the staff and upkeep.
