Apartment Review
Don't waste your money and sanity dealing with
Review Date: 5/9/2010 Reviewer: Anonymous
Ok, I am going to try to make this as brief and informative as possible with a complete breakdown of my honest truth. To start off, all responsibilities and negative reviews that are overflowing for this complex all fall on the shoulders of THE PREISS COMPANY, which is the management company that owns this place. No company that remotely cares about the wellness and satisfaction of their customers can completely ignore and take absolutely no action to all the negative feedback and press they receive due to the danger of living here and the headache from dealing with the management team. Management - I have been renting apartments in Austin for 7 years and this is hands down the most incompetent, rude, careless, and unprofessional group of people I've ever had to deal with. On the phone or in person, I have NEVER had a pleasant experience with any of them in regards to any type of question or concern. And trust me, it has nothing to do with the way you talk to them. They just hate the job and you can clearly see it. Parking - There are plenty of parking spots. However, if you don't have a parking sticker your car will be towed, no matter what. Noise - This place is so noisy at random hours of the night. I can't say it would be the same throughout the complex, but you will hear dogs barking up a storm, people walking around just yelling for no reason, cars driving around blowing up the exhaust or the speakers. Safety - Ok, this is a very big issue so please listen up. If you care about your or your child's safety and property, do not risk living here. Again, DO NOT RISK IT. There have been so many vehicle break ins, property break ins, and acts of violence at this place, its really a shame for anyone to give up their hard earn money to live in these conditions. My friend lived here too and her assigned roommate had a random guy who had a history for violence just move in with her one day and she felt extremely uncomfortable the entire time. The management knew about this and did NOTHING about it. In fact, they made it so hard for her to prove there was a random guy there she eventually had to just leave. And if you think this is a place to pack your friends in while paying one rent, think again. The management and maintenance team always randomly walks into your apartment, regardless of what your doing and will lock your door or kick you out if they catch you. I've actually had a digital camcorder, phone, and laptop just randomly disappear with no signs of a break in or anything... Can anyone guess who did it? There is so much more that needs to be revealed but it will take all day. To sum it all up, I highly recommend you stay away from this place. In fact, if this place could and is this terrible to live in, I suggest you stay away from any complex owned by the Preiss Company all together (University Estates and University Village). There are so many other options in Austin that are far better to live in. If you think this all cannot be true, just call any apartment locator in Austin and ask them about this place. Call 10 or 20 if you have time, they will all tell you the exact same thing. But honestly after all this you are still interested in living here, may God or whoever you pray to at night be with you. It's not a joke, I'm being sincere because I don't think anyone deserves to experience anything even close to what I or anyone that I knew that lived here had to go through. |
