| Let me tell you the issues with Westdale. They're the same issues others have with Westdale.
I have a lease agreement that specifies what they can and cannot charge. I was not supposed to pay for trash. My water bill was supposed to be a set amount each month. They decide I will start paying for trash every month, and my water bills are suddenly over the set amount I am supposed to be paying. With the water increase and the trash addition they are now expecting about $10-$15 a month more than what my lease says. They also told me I must give them 60 days notice even though my lease says 30 days. I have never lived in a situation like this, where they do whatever they want. The higher-ups in the office staff are rude when you dare question them (please note I'm not talking about the people who do nothing more than answer phones and file things. They're pretty nice). My neighbor says one of them said "you must really be poor if you can't afford $5" (the cost for trash). I can believe it--that's in line with their attitude.
If you don't mind fluctuating lease terms that benefit management to the tune of $120 to $180 a year, (not to mention what they're going to take from your deposit when you move out), or if you're a future lawyer wanting to practice your legal skills, have at it. But if you want to live like most renters do with set terms, find some place else. |
