| I lived in Duval Villa Apts for the past two years. We used to have a super-bitchy manager named Emily who wasn't very nice, but a new one (Leo) has come in and while he's kind of a pushover, he's a really nice guy. It's an older apartment so of course we had issues. OUr fridge leaked, the pipes sometimes spurted out water freakishly hard when you first turned on the tub water, and the sink would only put out hot water at a super fast rate instead of at a slow, normal pace. Oh, and the roof was terrible.

Good news though, they're replacing it this summer! The bedrooms are spacious, the layout of the apt and the complex is nice, and our neighbors were pleasant the whole time we lived there. However, the apt is getting pretty popular with the "fratty" types and thus the neighbors are getting louder and more gross (vomit outside of someone's door, empty pizza box, etc). When I moved in it was mainly grad students, but it looks like the convenience of the location is attracting all sorts of undergrads. I'd still recommend it though. It's in a BEAUTIFUL location (Hyde Park!) and there are 3 top notch restaurants literally next door plus a gas station with nice employees that you'll get to know on a first-name basis. The pool is nice and much cleaner than other apts I've seen. Parking sucks on weekends and after 11pm on weeknights but before that it's managable. The maintenance men work only for Duval Villa, which is nice because you get to know them well and they're nice guys. However if there are a lot of requests they'll go with the most pressing first so if yours is something small you might have to wait a week. I'd def. recommend this apt to all.
